Getting Organized in the New Year

I’ve brushed the confetti from my hair, stated my resolutions, and begun planning adventures for the New Year. A feeling of cleansing always seems to accompany a new year, and for me, personally, a sense of pressure to get organized. January brings a fresh start to carve your path for the upcoming months and a clean page to work from.

Many photographers and artists alike are self-employed and as such, we’re left to create our own rules, boundaries, and goals throughout the year. I’ve always done my best to view these as positives, but I’ll also be the first to admit that isn’t easy.

Over the years I’ve mapped out a routine for myself which includes a plan to ensure I am meeting the expectations I’ve laid out for myself and achieving my goals. This routine revolves around my beloved day-planner.

To help you get organized and ready to tackle 2016, we’re giving away a beautiful planner from Rifle Paper Co.  To enter, please comment with one goal you’ve set for yourself in 2016. We’ll draw a name next Monday and you’ll receive your beautiful new planner in the mail. Please do not forget to include your email address so we can contact the winner.

As an added bonus, we’re also including a workflow editing sheet to help you stay organized. You can download it here.

Happy New Year!
